Today I am back with a new set of photographs of the fair in my city, on this occasion I went to the national team penning competition, an activity that among many others takes place at the fair.











For those who do not know what this competition is about (I did not know it) basically a team of three riders must organize and lock up 3 cows of the same number (said by the judge at random) in a pen in less than 45 seconds and the team that does it in less time wins.
















That was the most basic explanation possible but obviously within that sport there are thousands of strategies and plays to be more efficient.

For my part I was watching from the bleachers and taking photographs with a zoom lens.














It is worth noting that all these people have many years riding horses and at this point they are practically an extension of their own body.











Reflecting I realized that in comparison to other sports this one is very difficult since animals in general tend to be unpredictable and here you are dealing with two at the same time and any type of anticipation sometimes can result in something totally different.

The truth was quite interesting to watch and I enjoyed it a lot plus I was able to take some very good photos!

Ahhh and another thing I found it very curious that there is a rule that says that all riders must wear a hat and if it falls off they have a score penalty!









I took all the photos with my Canon R8 camera and a 24 to 105mm lens at f 7.
