I think defederation in general isn’t good, and this mastodon.social problem has contributed to the cancel culture around mastodon. This is why I use Nostr.
The real issue is that servers defederate from other servers because mastodon.social threatens to defed them if they don’t, and that’s just not good. This huge power from mastodon.social is the real issue.
