Still, not to beat a dead horse, but new users dont really need to understand this rule change that was enacted for manufacturers.
But they might want some basic info on the advantages of FM vs AM... which was probably your point.

OK. I concede that by allowing FM, this technically a change in the rules by the governing body.
For clarification, the rule affects the manufacturers of radios, not users, as any user with the capability of switching to FM on their custom CB rig before the rule change, would not have beeen persued or charged with any enforcement action.
The CB band (outside of rules for manufacturers of radios) remains largely unregulated.
Its a free-for-all. With enforcement reserved for the less than once-per-decade extreme situation, like interrupting stations for long periods, causing complaints, ignoring warnings and using high-powered amplification devices to do so.

If anyone was truly curious, they should probably buy dual band and use them both to see whats what. AM is by far more popular still, but may change.

Same antennae, FM vs AM. You dont have to use FM, so buying a dual band radio is up to you.
FM may be clearer, but won't go as far.
Cobra LTD 29 has always been the most popular radio. Now you can buy them with dual band.
Wilson 2000 is a popular antenna.

I think I see. Can you elaborate on the complications and process?
I am under the impression that something nearing 0-2 enforcement actions have been taken on CB operators in the last 30+ years.
And these were for prolonged, amplified interference on popular channels (like 19) and only after several complaints were made and FCC warnings were ignored.

CB has no real rules. The FCC basically stopped regulating it. Folks say whatever the fuck they want. Some play music. Its a free-for all.

Hamm is cool. I'm on 2M for local talk. But it definitely has its drawbacks too. Super regulated. Must get licensed. Must identify yourself. Rules and all.
The people I speak with are super old and for whatever reason, sticklers for the rules.
Sometimes I miss the unregulated relative freedom of CB radio.

I think Isee. You believe democracy is ok if restricted to the roght groups, but unintended to be distributed equally among the populous.
I'm personally of the mind that democracy can be shaped to be a useful tool, as long as we remain a steadfast constitutional republic.
It gives people some say. It's still a representative democracy, after all, but it releases a pressure valve (which is important when governing an armed populace).

There are a bunch of shitty versions of this story. This video captures most of it without distortion.
Some stories change the satellite from Voyager 1 to Voyager 2. Others change the quantum chip used to analyze the received data from Sycamore X to others...
Mostly, they cut the story short, dismiss the humanoid image constructed from the data and ignore the lattitude/longitude of earth-based locations revealed.

Bruh. This story is off the chain. The computer was given to NASA by either Microsoft or some other tech company, the chip was called Sycamore X I think.
When analyzing the data recieved from voyager (out past the solar system) the computer reconstructed an image.
The image was only seen by a handful of scientists who all suffered hallucinations and shit.
The computer then failed. Completely bricked itself.
Nasa shut down the program. Won't talk about it.
This just scratches the surface of the story.

I used Mastodon for a while but was banned from my instance during the covid years. I think it prepared me for nostr as it had a similar feel.
But coming from X or Facebook or whatever, this shit is just weird AF.
I also think (wothout any proof whatsoever) that nostr use is tied in some way to Bitcoin price. In a sustained bull market, participation grows.

Northern California has so many beautiful, shallow, super clean rivers and streams. But you get truly spoiled by the flows in Humboldt County.
I took my wife to the Santa Rosa area last summer to enjoy their epic rivers.
They have a larger population, and they have private rivers banks where they sell ice cream and rent paddle boats. It really is awesome.
Anyway. We got to the shore and she said...
"I'm not going in. This rivers smells like duck."

There's an old story from the hopi tribe in northern AZ...
A being of some importance, a caretaker of the tribe, was approached by a member of the tribe who begged for help. The world had gone crazy it seemed to the man, and it has long been prophesied that the caretaker would come to help when things were truly bad.
The caretaker/being/protector asked him, "did you know that your father came to me with these same concerns, and before him his father?"
The point was that things (generationally at least) get bad and get better in cycles, but you will know, without question when they are REALLY bad.
