No, she’s one of the local residents. We have a Bleskomat Bitcoin ATM at the Bitcoin Ekasi Center where residents can exchange their fiat for Bitcoin, so that’s where she got some of her sats. We also host monthly movie nights, and everyone who attends receives 1,900 sats. She received some of her sats from attending those movie nights as well.

For the celebration, we will be sourcing our supplies from local shops that now accept Bitcoin as a form of payment. This choice not only supports our local businesses but also highlights how far we’ve come since the early days of onboarding the first shops in the township.
